We’re excited to introduce the candidates running for our Desrochers HOA Board of Directors! Learn more about their backgrounds, ideas, and goals for our community.

There are 7 open positions available:

• 4 positions for One (1) Year Term
• 3 positions for Two (2) Year Term

One (1) Year Term Candidates: 

1. Jonathan Butterworth - One (1) Year Term Director
   Q: Tell the community a little about yourself.
   A: Born and raised in Milan, Italy, I moved to Canada in 2002 and have proudly called Edmonton home for many years. My wife and I have three children, and we enjoy being part of the Desrochers community. Professionally, my background is in business management, entrepreneurship, and international business development. Having served on the DHOA Board for the past two years, I look forward to continuing to contribute to our neighbourhood’s growth and well-being.
   Q: Why would you like to serve on the Desrochers HOA Board of Directors?
   A: To ensure continuity, maintain high service standards, and support the smooth and efficient operation of our community throughout the year.
    
2. John Setterlund - One (1) Year Term Director
   Q: Tell the community a little about yourself.
   A: While spending the last two years on the Desrochers bod I have begun to understand both the beauty and challenges we face. 
   Q: Why would you like to serve on the Desrochers HOA Board of Directors?
   A: I wish to continue working with the board of Desrochers.
    
3. Samya Parkar - One (1) Year Term Director
   Q: Tell the community a little about yourself.
   A: I’m currently serving as a Director-at-Large for the Desrochers HOA and I am a member of the Finance Committee. I am happy to be part of the community and look forward to working collaboratively with fellow board members and residents to support our community’s financial well-being, transparency, and long-term success. I look forward to getting to know more of you and contributing to making Desrochers a great place to live.
   Q: Why would you like to serve on the Desrochers HOA Board of Directors?
   A: I would like to serve on the Desrochers HOA Board because I care about our community and want to do my part to make it a better place to live. I am happy to work with others, share ideas, and help make decisions that benefit our residents.
    
4. Aswin Kuncheria Ipe - One (1) Year Term Director
   Q: Tell the community a little about yourself.
   A: I am Aswin, been in Canada for last three years.
   Q: Why would you like to serve on the Desrochers HOA Board of Directors?
   A: I can add value to the Association and would be able to make changes in the society.

Two (2) Year Term Candidates: 

1. Umair Syed - Two (2) Year Term Director
   Q: Tell the community a little about yourself.
   A: As a current HOA member, I care deeply about our community and its future. My family and I enjoy walks around the ponds and watching my kids enjoy the St. Thomas playground. I believe every resident deserves a welcoming, well-maintained neighborhood where homeowners feel heard. I value listening, transparency, and collaboration, and I am committed to a community-first approach that preserves our neighborhood’s quality of life for families today and in the future.
   Q: Why would you like to serve on the Desrochers HOA Board of Directors?
   A: I would be honored to serve on the Desrochers HOA Board because I care about our community and its future. I am proud to have helped bring our inaugural Block Party to life, strengthening neighborhood connections. As a current resident, I want to continue building community spirit, ensuring homeowners’ voices are heard, and supporting well-maintained amenities. I believe in listening, collaboration, and a community-first approach to keeping Desrochers a welcoming place to call home.
    
2. Gundeep Singh Arora - Two (2) Year Term Director
   Q: Tell the community a little about yourself.
   A: Myself Gundeep, ​I care deeply about our community and want to make sure our operations run smoothly, transparently, and efficiently.
   Q: Why would you like to serve on the Desrochers HOA Board of Directors?
   A: As a homeowner in Desrochers, I am passionate about keeping our neighborhood vibrant, welcoming, and well-maintained. Serving on the HOA Board of Directors is an opportunity to contribute directly to the community’s long-term growth and everyday quality of life.
